BALTIMORE (February 1, 2018) D. R. Horton, Inc., recognized among the largest residential homebuilding companies in the United States, has announced the relocation of its Mid-Atlantic Division regional offices from McLean, Virginia to a 14,600 square foot space within the Annapolis Corporate Park in Annapolis, Maryland. The company recently moved 95 employees to 181 Harry S Truman Parkway, a two-story, 64,000 square foot Class “A” office building. The business community, situated near the intersection of Riva Road and Harry S Truman Parkway in Anne Arundel County, is a project of St. John Properties, Inc.

“Over the past three years, our homebuilding activity in this region has shifted to a greater prevalence in the Maryland suburbs,” explained Kevin McDonald, Capital Division Chief Financial Officer for D.R. Horton. “From a logistical and efficiency perspective, we made the decision to relocate our complete operations, encompassing administration, sales, marketing, purchasing and construction to an area within close proximity to our active communities throughout the metropolitan DC area. We consider Annapolis Corporate Park a compact, attractive development that provides the strategic location that will enable our operations to spend less time driving and more time on-site or with our customers. Our employees can now quickly access US Route 50 or Interstate 97 to connect with both the Baltimore and Capital beltways.”

Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, D.R. Horton is active in nearly 80 markets comprising 26 states throughout the country and closed more than 46,000 homes in the twelve-month period that ended September 30, 2017. The company has a diverse brand portfolio that also includes Express Homes and Emerald Homes, with sales prices ranging from $100,000 to more than $1 million.

181 Harry S Truman Parkway has earned LEED Gold certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) for satisfying appropriate design requirements utilized during the construction, as has the other two commercial office buildings within Annapolis Corporate Park representing nearly 125,000 square feet of Class “A” space. St. John Properties recently broke ground on a five-story class “A” office building in the project that will deliver in early 2019. The business community is less than one mile from the mixed-use Annapolis Towne Centre and less than five miles from downtown Annapolis. A variety of retail amenities are within walking distance from the business community including fast-casual restaurants, banking and financial services companies and related business and consumer services. Annapolis Corporate Park also offers immediate access to Broad Creek Park, a three-mile walking trail.

“D.R. Horton is among the most recognized brands in the residential homebuilding industry and, by attracting this high-profile company to Annapolis Corporate Park, demonstrates that the state of Maryland is indeed open for business,” explained Richard Williamson, Senior Vice President, Leasing and Marketing for St. John Properties. “Adding nearly 100 highly-skilled jobs to the Anne Arundel County region will result in a significant boost to the local economy that will positively impact a wide array of area businesses, retail shops and restaurants. The company has demonstrated consistent growth and we also expect new jobs to be created from this requirement.”

“We extend a warm welcome to D.R. Horton as it moves its Mid-Atlantic Division regional offices to Anne Arundel County,” said Julie Mussog, CEO of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation. “Our team looks forward to being a supportive partner by connecting D.R. Horton to vital resources that can help enhance and expand its operations and workforce in Maryland.”
