Ninth Annual Maryland Half Marathon And 5K Races Set For May 13 At Maple Lawn

BALTIMORE, MD (April 18, 2017) – Maple Lawn, a 600-acre mixed-use business community situated in Howard County, will be the site of the ninth annual Maryland Half Marathon & 5K races benefitting the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. Scheduled for Saturday, May 13, St. John Properties, Inc. is the presenting sponsor for the Half Marathon and BRG Healthcare is the primary sponsor of the 5K race. Baltimore-based Greenebaum Enterprises is the master developer of Maple Lawn, and St. John Properties is a partner in the development of the multi-story class ‘A’ office and flex/R&D product. Upon completion, the community will consists of more than 1.6 million square feet of commercial office, medical and retail space, more than 1,300 housing units, and features a Main Street area that combines restaurants, office space and complementary retail.

Michael Greenebaum of Greenebaum Enterprises and Jon Sevel of CoastTec, LLC initiated the idea for the Maryland Half Marathon in 2009, after realizing their joint passion for running and the goal to increase support for the Cancer Center, which is named in honor of Greenebaum’s parents, Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum.
