St. John Properties Earns LEED Gold Certification for Core and Shell for 1743 Dorsey Road Building in Hanover

BALTIMORE (April 2, 2015) – St. John Properties, Inc. has earned a LEED Gold certification from the Maryland Chapter of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) for the core and shell of 1743 Dorsey Road, a single-story, 24,190 square foot office building situated in the Route 100 Tech Park in Hanover, Maryland. The building was completed in 2014.

Buildings earn LEED Gold certification for elements designed into the project, including water efficiency, energy optimization and indoor environmental quality, as well as the choice of materials used to construct the interior and shell. It typically represents a pre-certification and commitment to maintain these LEED standards with the tenant build-out activities within the project.

LEED features engineered into 1743 Dorsey Road include high-energy HVAC units, energy-efficient motion sensor light fixtures, double pane insulated glass, white TPO roofing membranes and water-conserving plumbing fixtures. In addition, low VOC paint and adhesives will be utilized in tenant build-out construction.

Route 100 Tech Park is an 18-acre mixed-use business and retail community situated approximately five miles from BWI Airport at the intersection of Dorsey Road and Coca Cola Drive in Anne Arundel County. Upon final build-out, the park will be comprised of four buildings offering nearly 120,000 square feet of commercial office and retail space.
