Baltimore (September 27, 2016) – A 128-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott hotel is set to break ground at Greenleigh at Crossroads in White Marsh.

Tom Pilon, senior vice president for development at St. John Properties Inc. said last week the project had completed its permitting phase and was ready to begin this month.

Leasing is also underway at the development and includes a grocery store and other retail.

The hotel is part of the massive Greenleigh at Crossroads project being developed by St. John and partners Somerset Construction and Elm Street Development. The 200-acre development will total $750 million and is located off of Route 43 in White Marsh.

Pilon said the hotel is expected to open by February 2018 in tandem with the opening of a second multi-family apartment development next to The Arbors at Baltimore Crossroads. That project, developed by Somerset and managed by the Bozzuto Group, opened in 2011 with 365 units.

The larger development, named Greenleigh at Crossroads, broke ground in mid-May.

Models for some of the 400 single family residential units planned for the community are expected to open and begin to sell in late 2016, Pilon said.

Overall, the new community that is being built from scratch on what is now mostly wooded

space will hold 1,500 residential units,128,000 square feet of retail space and 428,000 square feet of office space.
