3Di Technologies Signs Lease with St. John Properties for 9,000 sq. ft. of space at Arundel Overlook

BALTIMORE (August 6, 2009) – 3Di Technologies, an Annapolis, MD-based defense contractor that maintains several international offices, has signed a lease with St. John Properties, Inc. for 9,000 square feet of space at 961 Mercantile Drive in Arundel Overlook. The 68-acre business community in Anne Arundel County, when completed, will feature approximately 313,000 square feet of R&D/flex space. The defense contractor has leased space in the 42,120 single-story office building to accommodate its expansion needs in the central Maryland area, and intends to move into the new space by this fall.

Founded in 2004, 3Di Technologies provides customized solutions in the telecommunications industry using satellite networks and related technologies. This includes the design, integration and installation of turn-key end to end systems, satellite network management, service hosting and ongoing support. The company maintains offices throughout the mid-Atlantic region, as well as in Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, Southeast Asia and Dubai

3Di Technologies works with a range of commercial, government and military customers to provide secure communications products and is the creator of the STOW™ (Secure Tunnel over Wide Area Network) VSAT System. According to the company, this is a completely integrated satellite broadband system that can be field deployed worldwide, permitting high speed secure and non-secure data and voice communications via commercial satellite services.

Positioned near the intersection of MD Routes 100 and 295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway), Arundel Overlook presently consists of four single-story flex/office buildings totaling approximately 160,000 square feet of space. The business community is located adjacent to the Arundel Mills shopping mall and is situated approximately two miles from BWI Airport.

“The velocity of defense contractors looking to establish new or expand existing operations in the central Maryland region is steadily increasing, and this is a trend we expect to continue in the foreseeable future,” explained Rick Williamson, Senior Vice President of Leasing for St. John Properties, Inc. “We attribute this recent movement and interest to the increased activity of defense contractors and related companies that need a presence near Fort Meade. Our company is experiencing a similar rise in interest among corporate end-users around our Aberdeen Proving Ground portfolio.”

St. John Properties, Inc., founded in 1971 as MIE Properties, owns and has developed more than 14 million square feet of R&D/flex, warehouse, office and retail space in Maryland, Colorado, Louisiana, Virginia and Wisconsin.
