St. John Properties and Generous Partners Make the Magic Happen

PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH (April 25, 2018) — Pleasant Grove City invites children, parents, and patrons to its Library Grand Reopening Celebration April 28th from 10:00a.m.-4:00p.m. The facility houses a newly remodeled Children’s Library that is sure to fire the imagination of youth. Located at 30 E Center St, Pleasant Grove, UT, the remodel includes handicap access for patrons of all physical abilities. The cost of remodeling is made possible by a generous donation by St. John Properties and a team of local contractors.

“Education has the power to transform lives and strengthen communities. At the core of any community is a commitment to empower the next generation through knowledge,” states Daniel Thomas, regional partner for St. John Properties. “We are so pleased to be joined with other industry partners to make the library more accessible to the citizens of Pleasant Grove City.”

The celebration includes something for all ages:

• 10:00—Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with booths from community organizations
• 11:00—Art for Kids Hub – Be an artist!
• 12:00—Author’s Panel – Local authors speak and answer questions
• 1:00—Storytelling winners perform stories – Little Miss Pleasant Grove winners read essays
• 2:00—Monologues from our own PG Players
• 3:00—Pleasant Grove Royalty – Children’s story time
• 4:00—Candy Cannon and Rice Krispy Treats

The current library was built in 1988. The library serves around 21,800 patrons. There are 907 on-going programs for children, teens, and adults. Monthly circulation is between 35,000 and 42,000 items. The library is approximately 10,000 square feet. The National Library square footage recommendation for Pleasant Grove’s city population is a 45,000 square foot library.
