St. John Properties Adds Four New Professionals to Four-Year Partner-in-Training Program

Six employees now enrolled in program involving real estate disciplines including development, construction, leasing and property management in advance of opening regional office

BALTIMORE, MD (December 11, 2020) – St. John Properties has added four professionals to its four-year Partner-in-Training Program, providing training and education in every discipline of the commercial real estate process including development, construction, marketing, leasing, tenant improvements and property management. Professionals graduating from the program typically open a new St. John Properties regional office in a section of the country considered a major development and growth opportunity by the company. Over its history, six professionals have completed the program and six are presently enrolled.

Jenai Ferguson and Michael Sacks, two professionals who earned their Masters of Science in Real Estate from the University of Florida, joined the program last year and are now working with the leasing team. Alaina McCracken, who previously worked as a Production Supervisor for NVR, Inc.-Ryan Homes and Raphael Alterman, who recently earned his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate Finance and Development from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, are the latest additions to the program.  

Jenai Ferguson earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business. She completed real estate-related internships with Concept Companies and Jkl Design Group and volunteered with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Michael Sacks also graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a degree specialization in Law from the Heavener School of Business. He has worked as a business consultant for an energy services company, as well as a commercial real estate agent.

After working as a summer intern for NVR-Ryan Homes, Alaina McCracken was hired by the company and became involved in various construction activities for nearly 50 condominium units and townhouses in the Frederick, Maryland area. She also worked as an Analytics Consulting Teaching Assistant at the University of Maryland. Ms. McCracken earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management and Business Analytics from the University of Maryland at College Park.

Raphael Alterman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Political Science from Pitzer College. Prior to business school, he worked in residential real estate sales in New York City and also functioned as an MBA summer intern for St. John Properties.

Brandon Jenkins, the most recent graduate of the Partner-in-Training program, was named Regional Partner, Colorado last year. Jenkins now directs the development, acquisition, construction, marketing, leasing and asset/property management functions for the company’s portfolio of more than 1.5 million square feet of flex, office and warehouse space situated throughout the greater Denver metropolitan area. The regional office recently revealed plans to develop a new 600,000 square foot mixed-use business community.

Daniel Thomas graduated from the program in 2014 and subsequently opened a new regional office in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2015. Over the past four years, Thomas has overseen the development of more than one million square feet of commercial office and retail space. Last year, the Utah office delivered a six-story, 195,000 square foot commercial office building, which represents the single-largest office building in the St. John Properties portfolio.
